New cross stitch design in the works: How I spent my summer . . .

This summer I embarked on a new cross stitch design that’s a companion piece to the Lincoln Bicentennial Sampler.  On July 4, 2012 I channeled my inner Betsy Ross (she’s featured in the thimble above) and started to stitched away.

I stitch all my models, as it helps me design (and frog!) the final product.  I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find that fiber colors take on a different look and feel, depending on the fabric color and count. And a-frogging we went!   After many tweaks and changes, the design started to take shape.

Here’s a sneak peek of the design, about 25% completed.  The piece is finished and it’s being framed right now. We’ll release the chart soon.

Happy stitching to you — isn’t Autumn the perfect stitching season?  (Next to Winter, Spring and Summer, of course.)

Hugs to you,

Liz
